Kanye West says African Americans 'preferred' to be slaves

Rap musician in the United States Kanye West has said that the slavery of African Americans over 100 years ago was their choice.

'When you hear that bondage took place over 400 years. 400 years? it's like they liked it done, "he said on the TMZ entertainment site.

The star recently hit the headlines by supporting President Donald Trump.
Black people were forced from Africa to the United States in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries and sold as slaves.

West later sent a Twitter message and said that he did not understand well and that he spoke about 400 years because 'our thinking' could not be closed for another 400 years.
